DESCRIPTION:The Yerba Buena Community Benefit District's Arts and Dialogue series
presents "Growing Pains: The Business of Cannabis in San Francisco,"
 Thursday, March 21, 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at SPUR, 654 Mission Street, San
Francisco. This state-of-city discussion about the marijuana business and
the impact of proposed legislative reforms is led by SF Appeal Editor Eve
Batey with Heather Donahue, (contributor to Los Angeles Magazine, The
Huffington Post, Rodale and author of Growgirl: The Blossoming of an
Unlikely Outlaw) and Chris Roberts (contributor to the San Francisco
Examiner, San Francisco Weekly and San Francisco Magazine). \n\nCalifornia
has been on the cutting edge of legal reform regarding the cultivation,
possession, and use of marijuana beginning with 1996's Compassionate Use
Act regarding the sale and use of medical marijuana. In San Francisco
alone, there are 25 dispensaries are in operation. This lively discussion
centers on the intersection of politics, business, law enforcement, and
counter-culture resulting from the business of cannabis. Questions for
participants are encouraged in advance at growingpains@sfappeal.com.
Admission is free. Space is limited. Please RSVP to info@ybcbd.org. \n\nThe
event is part of the Yerba Buena Community Benefit District's exciting Arts
and Dialogue series of discussions, performance and workshops held
quarterly in the Yerba Buena neighborhood\n
