DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the Committee for Justice in Palestine:\n\nIyad Burnat is a
leader in the Palestinian non-violent popular resistance movement from the
West Bank village of Bil’in. Since 2005, community members have held
weekly demonstrations against the theft of their farmland for illegal
Israeli settlements and construction of a separation wall on their
property. The protesters are joined by Israeli and international peace
activists every week. They maintain a commitment to unarmed methods of
resistance, despite violent Israeli military repression and the constant
threat of arrest, injury, and even death. Their efforts have even brought
some success in the form of an Israeli High Court ruling that resulted in
the return of a portion of the illegally appropriated land. \n\nThe
struggle in Bil'in was documented in the critically acclaimed film "5
Broken Cameras" (2012). The documentary was created in cooperation between
Iyad's brother, Emad Burnat, and Israeli filmmaker Guy Davidi. You can
 watch the trailer
 here:\nhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_93nOqwmhU\n\nDon’t miss this
opportunity to hear Iyad speak and learn about the struggle for Palestinian
rights from those who live it!\n\nPark for free in any of the "Remote Lots"
on campus after 5pm\n\nWe want to make this event accessible for people
with disabilities. If you need accommodation please call SOAR at (831)
