DESCRIPTION:Film & Presentation by John D. Liu\nJohn Liu's films document
large-scale restoration that is taking place around the world. See how
China, Rwanda, Uganda & other countries are working to create
sustainable ecosystems.\n\nJohn D. Liu is a Chinese American who helped
open the CBS News Beijing Bureau in 1981 during the normalization of
relations between the U.S. and China. Since the mid-1990s, he has
concentrated on producing, writing, directing and presenting environmental
films for the BBC, National Geographic & others. In 1997, he started
the Environmental Education Media Project (EEMP) in China. His
award-winning film "Hope in a Changing Climate" has led to public speaking
engagements on 6 continents. Liu's work provides compelling evidence that
it is possible to rehabilitate large-scale damaged ecosystems, illuminating
the path that humanity must take to ensure sustainability and restore &
preserve the natural systems that support life on this planet.
