Emergency Levi Strauss Anti-sweatshop Demonstration
In Solidarity with Haitian garment workers, whose independent union is under attack by Sweatshop Owners

Levi’s contractor, GRUPO M, runs a sweatshop in Haiti where the workers have formed an independent union. GRUPO M has been trying to bust the union all spring: organizers have been beaten by soldiers and more than 350 workers were fired last month. Levi’s has a “code of conduct” that proclaims that workers producing their products will have basic rights, but they’ve been looking the other way. An international campaign has begun to make Levi’s listen, and our homegrown political pressure will get them to do the right thing- we call on Levi Strauss to reinstate the workers fired during GRUPO’s campaign against the union. We demand that Levi’s and its contractor negotiate with the union.
